This comes after Universal confirmed that the film will be pushed back six weeks from its previous release date of April 7, 2023.
It is expected to face competition from Disney’s live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid and the DC Comics film Shazam! Wrath of the Gods
Star Vin Diesel confirmed the news on Instagram, where he posted the film’s logo with the caption “Day One.”
The good news is that not one, but two more quick movies have been confirmed. The bad news is that these will be the last entries in the main series, although the door is open for more spin-offs and sequels in the Hobbs & Shaw tab of 2019.

“The universe is so strong and so rich in talent and so rich in story that on one level doing spin-offs is quite feasible, I think it’s inevitable,” Vin Diesel told Total Movie in February 2020. .
In October 2020, Deadline reported that Justin Lin, who has directed five films including Fast 9 — the series’ best director — will direct both films, which will reportedly focus on an overarching story.
As detailed above, he confirmed the news in a statement on April 26, 2022, explaining that he would no longer be directing Fast X or the final second film as a producer.
Fans needn’t worry though: Louis Leterrier, whose credits include Transporter 2, Unleashed, Now You See Me and the Netflix series Lupin, has taken over as Fast X’s director following Lynn’s exit.

Fast And Furious 10 Movie Poster
While the final cast list for the film has yet to be confirmed, fans can expect most of the “family” to return for the next film in the series, including:
Jordana Brewster skipped the previous film and returned to the franchise in Fast 9, so it’s no surprise that she’ll be back again as Mia Toretto. With Mia back, Fast 9 had to explain why Brian O’Connor (Paul Walker) wasn’t with her – he was taking care of his and Mia’s kids, Dom’s son and his little namesake Brian (Isaac and Emmanuel Holden). — but former director Lynn hinted that Brian will appear on Fast 10 in some form.
In an interview with CinePop, Lin said, “Certainly Paul and his character Brian are the soul and heart of how we’ve moved forward. Bringing him back is something I think about every day. As we approach the end of the film. franchise, it’s a conversation I’m having. I think about that possibility every day.”
Paul Walker was halfway through filming 2015’s Furious 7 when he died, using CGI and body doubles to complete his scenes. Brian may try something similar to Fast 10 for a small role.
Fast & Furious 10: The Rock’s Absence Could Make It More Ridiculous
Jordana Brewster suggested that Walker’s daughter Meadow could make a cameo in an upcoming Fast movie as a tribute to her late father. “I feel like she’s very comfortable with us, very involved in our universe,” Brewster told Access. “So expanding to the screen would be very natural, I think. It would be very interesting.”
Since he was brought back from the dead in Fast 9, we can only hope that Sung Kang will continue to be a part of Dom’s team as Han Lu in future films.
John Cena made his debut as Jacob Toretto – also Dom and Mia’s long-lost brother, who is a master thief and assassin (because why?) – in Fast 9, and by the end of the film, he he made his amendments with Dom. A misunderstanding about their father’s death is resolved. Although that film ended with Jacob still on the run from the authorities, it’s possible that Cena will reprise his role in any sequel — after all, Mia urged him not to stay away from his family for too long.
The fate of Kurt Russell’s master spy Mr. Knobber in Fast 9 was unclear – if he’s still alive, he may return in Fast 10.
Fast X: Everything We Know About Fast And Furious 10
Fast 9 also featured appearances from Cardi B, Dom’s old acquaintance Leysa and Vin Diesel returning for the sequel in a major role, with Entertainment Tonight saying, “We’re really excited to see her character evolve. Develop it all the way. the final.”
To the delight of fans of 2006’s The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, that film’s stars Lucas Black (played by Sean Bowell), Bow Wow (Twinky) and Jason Tobin (Earl Hu) all return to play supporting roles in Fast 9. In the film, they seem to be an established part of Dom’s crew – even attending the traditional family barbecue – so stick around for another fast-paced adventure.
Interestingly, Fast 9 had a cameo by another franchise regular, Santos (Don Omar), but his partner Leo (Teigo Calderon) was absent – so it’s possible one or two of the pair will reappear in Fast 10 .
Speaking of absentees, Jason Statham will only appear as Deckard Shaw in the Fast & Furious 9 post-credits scene, so we’re hoping for a bigger role for him in the next film — as well as another possible role for Helen Mirren as him. mother in the show “Regina”.
Fast And Furious 10 Named
As for Shaw’s sparring partner Luke Hobbs, it appears that Dwayne Johnson will not be in Fast 10 – he pulled out of Fast 9 following reports of falling out with Vin Diesel. Johnson recently told Slash Film that he will not be returning.
As for new characters, Diesel told Digital Spy that he’d love to drop his Last Witch Hunter co-star Sir Michael Caine into the franchise. Kane as the Shaw family patriarch, Queenie’s ex-husband and Deckard and Luke’s father? We will see.
