Discovered in his Tennessee home, a Memphis DJ, Rick Buchanan, also known as ‘Slick Rick,’ was reportedly beheaded in a suspicious incident under investigation by the police.

Buchanan’s brother John found the DJ dead in his Berclair home on Angel Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 24.

“I walked in and found him, and I just called 911,” noted John in an interview with FOX13.

John Buchanan also stated, “I thought his coat was up over his head like it was cold or something. I ran out and then I ran back in. And, then I realized it was something worse.”

Upon John’s discovery, the DJ was still clinging to his keys and was found with his pants pulled down.

Buchanan was a prominent figure in the local Memphis music scene for many years and has been performing around the area.

In 2014, he suffered gunshot wounds outside a nightclub, an incident that significantly impacted him and caused him to withdraw from the public eye.

Following the shooting, Buchanan became more reclusive and faced challenges in finding work, eventually becoming a homebody who preferred to stay with his dog Lucky.

John intends to adopt Buchanan’s beloved dog Lucky following his tragic death, and the family members are deeply affected by the disturbing nature of his discovery on Wednesday.

Family and friends of the Memphis DJ are seeking answers, while the Memphis PD is actively investigating the incident.

“He was wild but he was a good man,” shared Kathy Calaway. “He had the energy of an entire power plant, would, and did help anyone if he was able and was such a positive, kind man.”

“I am so damn sad, frustrated, shocked & angry but I shall bite my tongue & go turn up some bad ass rock n roll for a while,” expressed Karen Dillard Brown.
